I love mistakes. Not because they are pleasant, but because they are the most honest teachers a company can have. Wherever people, processes and supply chains come together, errors can occur. What matters is whether you understand them and eliminate them for good. I am fascinated by what really lies behind a defect – not the symptoms, but the deeper causes that you only recognize when you look closely. That is where real, preventive quality begins for me. For more than 14 years, I have been passionately working on preventive quality assurance in the automotive, semiconductor and medical technology industries – always with the aim of not just correcting errors, but making them impossible. To do this, I combine the core elements of APQP, FMEA, reliability engineering and supplier readiness with pragmatic problem-solving methods such as 5 Why, Six Sigma and Shainin.
